On Thursday, July 7 the MassHire Merrimack Valley Workforce Board celebrated the graduation of 12 students from our ESOL-Enhanced Advanced Manufacturing training program. In partnership with area employers, the Greater Lawrence Technical School, and the MassHire Merrimack Valley Career Center our program aims to serve unemployed and underemployed individuals whose English language skills are a barrier to employment. Our students received bi-lingual instruction in English for manufacturing as well as technical skills training. We plan to serve another 12 students in the Fall.

This project is funded by a Senator Kenneth J. Donnelly Workforce Success Grant (Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund FY’20 Appropriation) through the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development and is administered by Commonwealth Corporation.
